A land of inspiring and interesting people. A land where many artists where born and a land that inspired many of the artists.

Lisbon, you have a place on my heart and on the heart of many of the visitors who are lucky enough to enjoy you.

I was once just a tourist as well, but even though I am a "countryside girl" I felt inspired to move to such a cultural, alive and multicultural place as Lisbon. Even myself, I felt like living in one of this cosy and typical houses that beautify the older quarters of Lisbon like Alfama, Bairro Alto, Graça or even Príncipe Real.

It is magical to walk in the residential areas of Lisbon (like Bica, Bairro Alto and Alfama) and see the open windows, sometimes with beautiful curtains, flowers, or simply the cat, the most loyal companion to this old ladies, who most of the times live on their own. In a house they lived for 40 years. Maybe with their husbands or even their kids.

Now, they simply watch out on the window looking for a smile or the tourists passing by. Maybe waiting for a precious talk with someone, apart from the cat.

It is truly beautiful how Lisbon looks such a magical, comfortable, cosy city, full of light and color.

Colors from the street art or the glazed-tiles or maybe the clothes hanging on the windows of the people who cannot wait for the sun to come to dry their clothes.

It is not easy to walk up and down the hill in Lisbon. And foreigners wonder why it is not so often to ride bicycles in Lisbon...

Just imagine yourself riding it up and down the seven hills. I still wonder how this old ladies manage their lifes living in the old quarters, even though we have our beautiful trams.

But we Portuguese have a saying, coming from our amazing and dear poet Fernando Pessoa: "everything is worth it, when having a big soul". In Portuguese: "Tudo vale a pena, quando a alma não é pequena".

You may need to understand this saying to understand the Portuguese. As we are people who fights for our everyday life. Keep complaining, but handling it as we have big souls.

Welcome to the sunny city and if you need any tips, text me and I will be very happy to let you know where to go :)
