1 day in NYC, the city that doesn't sleep

It is always such an excitement to come to New York, the city where all your dreams come true, the city that does not sleep, the city of skyscrapers and so many other things that makes our eyes brighter when speaking about it.

But NYC it's not all about glamour. During the day we can see how stressful and perhaps unhappy the New York citizens are. During the day I did realize how dark New York looks like. The architecture does not help, as most of the buildings are made of brick which brings this misty and dark character to this city.

I did not have the chance to visit the Central Park or do the Sex and the City tour, but hopefully I will be back soon.

After spending the night in NYC, that's when the city gets brighter. Nevertheless, the first time I stepped in this city I just felt like a movie. It was January, around 6pm or 7pm and it was dark and freezing. All the lights on, the waste a bit disorganized in the city and the typical smoke coming from the street was part of the scenario. It was weekend and there was not many people at the street, not as many as expected for the city that does not sleep.

We did visit the Times Square and it is impressive how bright this square is at night. I do suggest you to visit it during the night, as I did walked around during the day and I did not even realize I was in this amazing square.

We just walked around the Midtown and Fifth Avenue, the one avenue that no one should miss, with all the porch shops and some amazing monuments, as the Empire State Building and the Rockefeller Center.

Madison Square is a lovely square to relax or stop for food in the middle of this mad city.

In the evening we went to the Majestic Theater to watch The Phantom of the Opera. The queue was huge and in the end of it all we could hear was the security saying very loud: "open your bags, open your bags". It was brilliant the show! I have not seen a show like this before: the way they swap the scenarios, the costumes, their voices, the story was amazing and the drama as well. A great way to spend the evening I must say!

Love from New York!

The squirrels in Madison Square are very used to people and they will come close to you and beg some food. #lovefromNYC
